I LIVE AND DREAM MOVIES.
My first job was at the local video store. I wanted the job because I am obsessed with movies. I got the job because I could reach the top shelf.
My enthusiasm for making movies began at a young age. During the summer of '96, I made several ultra-no budget cop thrillers with my best friends instead of going to camp. The three of us played every role and the climax of each movie involved jumping over a couch, guns blazing, mowing down the bad guys (played by us in sunglasses). We used ketchup for blood and bad accents for the villains. This unapologetic and non-judgmental approach to moviemaking lives in me today.
Make the movies you want to see.
Make the kind of movies you love.
Make more movies.
My passion led me on the lifelong journey of pursuing a career as a storyteller. I studied and performed theatre to learn the techniques and methods of great actors - Stanislavski, Strasburg, Adler, Meisner, Practical Aesthetics, Kinesthetics, Alexander, Viewpoints, Biomechanics, Clown, Mask, and Jazz Acting. I studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, video editing a BRIC Media Arts, and continue to improve my skills with online courses in Stop Motion, Documentary, and Chromakeying.
I create content to unite audiences by stimulating them with tales of tension and humor. Horror, suspense, mystery, and comedy genres offer audiences a unique opportunity to come together and share primal human experiences of fear, dread, relief, and catharsis. Whether in a cinema or at home, we bond and share our favorite movies. I'm attracted the the fantastic and approach my stories with a childlike wonder. I draw inspiration from arthouse cinema but create for mainstream audiences who reject being preached at. I focus on great characters, unique plots, and entertainment value. My work might include important lessons and themes, but I won't pretend that I'm trying to change the world. If you're like me, sometimes you just need a break from it all. That's what I offer. Escapism.
I was born in Brooklyn but moved to Wisconsin to usher in a new Independent Movie movement away from Hollywood, in the Midwest. Accessible technology finally caught up to my imagination and I'm only limited by my creativity and motivation.
When I'm not world-building a new fantasy universe or developing a zombie film, I livestream events or teach theater and film as a guest artist. I'm an award winning writer, director, videographer, and editor whose found the artistic and necessary work life balance so I live my dream.
